Information we collect

The information we collect depends on your relationship with GTE and the products or services involved.

We may collect:

  • your name, business name, position and contact details;
  • account and authorised-contact information;
  • service, installation and billing addresses;
  • identification and authority information;
  • quotations, orders, agreements and service records;
  • billing, payment and transaction information;
  • telecommunications service, usage, network and device information;
  • support requests, correspondence, complaints and feedback; and
  • technical information required to deliver IT, cloud, backup, cybersecurity and support services.

We may collect this information directly from you, from an authorised representative, through your use of our services or systems, or from carriers, wholesalers, suppliers and other parties involved in providing a product or service.

How we use your information

GTE may use personal information to:

  • provide quotations, products and services;
  • establish and manage customer accounts;
  • verify identity and account authority;
  • activate, configure, support and bill services;
  • communicate about appointments, faults, outages and service changes;
  • investigate fraud, scams, misuse and security incidents;
  • respond to enquiries and complaints; and
  • meet legal, regulatory and telecommunications obligations.

Where permitted by law, we may also contact you about GTE products and services. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time.

Sharing your information

Where reasonably necessary, we may share personal information with:

  • telecommunications carriers, wholesalers, network operators and NBN Co;
  • technology, cloud, backup, software and cybersecurity providers;
  • payment processors, contractors and professional advisers;
  • manufacturers, distributors and warranty providers; and
  • government agencies, regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where authorised or required by law.

GTE does not sell personal information to advertisers or data brokers

Protecting your information

GTE takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Our safeguards may include access controls, multi-factor authentication, encryption, cybersecurity monitoring, staff training, supplier controls and secure information-disposal processes.

Accessing or correcting your information

You may ask to access personal information GTE holds about you or request that inaccurate, out-of-date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading information be corrected.

We may need to verify your identity or authority before completing a request.

Assessment timeframes

We will assess a complete application as soon as practicable and within five business days. We will tell you the outcome as soon as possible and no later than two business days after completing our assessment.
